    • Listen to reply: Give benefit of doubt for that time and try to keep attention to understand perspective rather than replying back.
    • Express it: If you are very emotional or sensitive first take time to settle the emotions then try to communicate your thoughts and feelings using “I” statements to avoid blame.

    2. The Mutual Respect

    • Keep emotions in check: During the tough time take deep breaths and try to have a glass of water which is a part of Schema Therapy and remain calm during discussions.
    • Avoid escalation: Refrain from shouting or using hurtful language which may hurt others feeling.

    3. Seek Emotions

    • Empathize: Try to understand your partner’s feelings and point of view.
    • Validate emotions: Acknowledge their emotions even if you don’t agree with their stance.

    4. Apply Solutions

    • Focus on solutions: Work together to find compromises that satisfy both parties.
    • Identify shared goals: Highlight what you both want from the relationship moving forward.

    5. Time-Out if Needed

    • Pause and reflect: If emotions escalate, take a break to cool down and gather your thoughts.
    • Agree on a time to resume: Set a time to revisit the conversation once both of you are calmer.

    6. Forgive and Let Go
