Are you feeling overwhelmed by anxiety and in need of immediate relief? You’re not alone. The below techniques should be helpful to soothe your nerves:

    1. Counting Backwards: Close your eyes and count backwards from 10 to 1, focusing on each number as you say it. This can help to distract your mind from anxious thoughts and promote a sense of control over your thoughts and feelings.
    2. Loud, Louder, Loudest: Find an isolated place and be as loud as you can while performing the above two exercises. This would work as the ultimate mind distraction exercise to ward off anxious thoughts and regain senses.
    3. Using Positive Affirmations: Next in the line, you are required to do is say some positive affirmation in loud voice. For example, say ‘I am fine’, ‘I am brave and I can fight anxiety’, ‘Things are going to be alright’, etc.
The sole aim of this exercise is a mental distraction which is most important at the time of anxiety. With a loud voice, your mind would hear only your voice and nothing else which ease anxiety.
    4. Mindful Observation: Take a moment to focus on your surroundings. Notice five things you can see, four things you can touch, three things you can hear, two things you can smell, and one thing you can taste. This simple mindfulness exercise can shift your focus away from anxious thoughts and into the present moment.

Mentoring Minds Counsellors always believes in helping individuals and society with the easiest forms of techniques with better results. These techniques may provide immediate relief from anxiety, but it’s important to remember that everyone is different, and what works for one person may not work for another. If you find that your anxiety persists or interferes with your daily life, consider reaching out to a mental health professional for support. Remember, you’re not alone, and help is available.
